Dr. Ryan Wong

Dr. Ryan Wong is a board-certified periodontist whose clinical emphasis is on promoting healthy smiles through patient education and high-quality periodontal care. His drive for excellence has been met with numerous awards, publications, and recognitions, and he currently remains involved with UCLA as a faculty in the Section of Periodontics.
Dr. Wong is energetic and enjoys dancing and traveling in his spare time. He grew up in the Dutch-Caribbean island of Curaçao, and with his well-rounded background and ability to fluently speak four languages, Dr. Wong is able to connect well with his patients, maximizing the collaborative relationship between patient and provider.

Advanced Periodontal Care:
Advanced periodontal care involves treatment of the supporting structures of the teeth, such as the gingiva and bone. It includes surgical procedures to halt the progression of gum disease, as well as efforts to repair or regenerate damaged bone. Periodontal plastic surgeries are also performed to address gum recession, and dental implant surgeries can replace missing teeth. The goal is to manage advanced gum disease, prevent further bone loss, restore oral health, and help patients maintain or replace their natural teeth.
